The French made Wakan 1640 is a naked sport bike built on the same principle as Carol Shelby's AC Cobra, a powerful American engine in a fine handling and lightweight European chassis.
The 100 cu in (1640 cc) S&S V-twin engine develops 115 horsepower with 115 ft lbs of torque, and is complimented by a ram-air style scoop protruding through the 'fuel tank' (the real fuel tank is located beneath the seat).
The Wakan 1640 is the product of Joel Domergue, creator of the Scorpa and other trials motorcycles. After selling up his trials bike company in 2003, he used the money to start making the Wakan 1640. On his own at first, but later with Engineering and More Ltd (another company Domague established) he developed the Wakan 1640 in secret over 3 years, with the first prototype ready in 2005, and 3 more road ready in 2006.
