Factory motorcycle from India, Bajaj Auto Ltd.. announced the sale achievement of Bajaj Discover as the best-selling motorcycle in the world. It's based on sales data as of September 2012.
Achieving this, Bajaj Discover shift the position of Hero Splendor, which has occupied the first position in the motorcycle world. In September 2012, recorded sales of 122 968 Bajaj Discover motorcycle.
Sales are driven by the recent launch Discover 125 ST in July 2012, which contributed to the total sales of 35,000 units during September 2012.
These results make Bajaj Auto over 35 percent market share in commuter segment. Bajaj Discover first launched in 2004.
"Discover is a success story for Bajaj in terms of technology and marketing. Discover 125 ST getting tremendous response in the three months after the launch of the new type. Bajaj Auto has a portfolio of strong brands of motorcycles in the global market. Pulsar and Discover brands cumulative sales have exceeded five million unit sales during the year 2011-2012.
Discover approaching 1.5 million units. In the same period, exports of Bajaj Auto to sell as many as 1.27 million units. Boxer became the largest selling brand in Africa and the Pulsar 135LS is included in the ranks of the highest selling products in a number of Latin American countries.
Bajaj Auto position as the market leader in 12 countries of the 35 countries export destination. Besides, Bajaj Auto also has a 47 per cent stake in KTM Power Sports AG of Austria.
The Company currently holds 10 percent market share in the global motorcycle market. And, targeting sales of 4.5 million motorcycles globally with a target market share of 30 percent in the financial year 2012-2013. viva
